About PrintFix3D

Practical, independent FDM 3D printing guides and calculators.

Who runs PrintFix3D

PrintFix3D is an independent project run by Agustín Claude Palacios. Questions and corrections can be sent to printfix3dguide@gmail.com. It is not an official support service for a printer manufacturer.

The purpose

PrintFix3D helps readers identify visible print problems, work through likely causes in a sensible order, and understand the settings or maintenance behind a fix. The aim is useful guidance—not pages created merely to target search phrases.

How guidance is written

Articles distinguish general FDM principles from settings that depend on a printer, hotend, build plate, slicer, or material product. Manufacturer documentation is prioritized where a procedure or limit is hardware-specific. The site does not claim physical product testing or personal experience that did not occur.

Evidence and editorial transparency

The current library contains documentation-based explanations and diagnostic workflows. It does not yet include original repair photography or verified workshop case studies. AI assistance is used in drafting and organizing content; this does not constitute hands-on testing. Hardware-specific claims should be checked against the linked manufacturer source before use.

Future case studies will identify the printer, material, profile, observed failure, individual changes, and outcome. Original photographs will be labeled with their context. Illustrations will be identified as illustrations rather than used as evidence of a repair.

Documentation check · October 5, 2026

A source-based check clarified PLA temperature examples, spool drying limits, plate washing, cold-pull compatibility, CoreXY motion diagnosis, and calibration after nozzle changes. Numerical examples are distinguished from hardware limits, and test records now identify the evidence relevant to each procedure.

This was an AI-assisted documentation check, not an independent human technical review or workshop validation. Those forms of evidence remain pending. Manufacturer pages may change; dated technical data sheets are identified as archived references.

The review covers all 21 published articles. Short guides now include topic-specific comparisons, acceptance criteria, and explicitly hypothetical examples. Generic procedures are separated from Bambu model-specific instructions, and numerical planning examples remain calculations rather than measured performance results. Some source pages were available only through indexed manufacturer content; the Bambu guide identifies its retrieval limits.

Corrections

Guides are updated when a source changes or a technical error is identified. Please include the page URL, printer model, material, and a relevant manufacturer reference when suggesting a correction.
